Tigers Take Care of Dons 4-1

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team collected its second conference win of the season after downing San Francisco 4-1 at home. The Tigers move to a 11-6 record on the season, the most wins by a Tiger team since rejoining the WCC in 2013.

The Tigers quickly grabbed the doubles point with wins on courts two and one and they never relinquished the lead for the duration of the match. Junior Alexis Sam and freshman Milena Maiorova struck first with a 6-3 decision from court two. The pair improved to 3-1 from court two doubles.

Senior Klara Kosan and junior Tomi Main sealed the point after defeating the Dons 6-4 from court one. The duo moved to a 10-7 doubles record this season on court one.

Senior Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle put the Tigers up 2-0 after a 6-4, 6-0 win over Julia Visaya on court six. Kosan struck next, defeating Katerina Filip 6-2, 6-4. The senior captain moves to 11-4 from court one and has won her last five singles matches.

The Dons got on the board after a win on court five before Main put the match away in her third set. Her 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 win elevated the Tigers to their first win over the Dons since 2018.

With inclement weather due to arrive on Saturday, the Tigers will now host Santa Clara for their Senior Day on Tuesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
