Pacific Opens WCC Play Against Saint Mary's

STOCKTON, Calif- The Pacific softball team heads out on the road for its first four game, three day conference series of the season, taking on Saint Mary's in Moraga. Saturday's doubleheader was moved to Friday, April 12 starting at 1 p.m. with game two following directly after in anticipation of incoming inclement weather on Saturday.
 
Sophomore left fielder Olivia Silvestre's .396 batting average, 23 runs, 42 hits and seven stolen bases leads the team this season. She has 14 RBI, while leading the team with nine doubles. 
 
The left fielder recorded her second career home run of the season against UC Davis a week ago. On Wednesday evening against San Jose State, the sophomore recorded the lone run of the evening, extending her streak to seven games with one or more runs scored.
 
Aiding the Tiger offense is senior shortstop Rian Dirmeyer, who leads the Tigers with five home runs on the season. She holds a .333 batting average and has recorded 15 runs and 36 hits in 35 games this season. The shortstop paces the team with 16 RBI.
 
Junior Delaney Scully boosts the Tigers in both phases, holding a .243 batting average on the season. The first baseman has scored 14 runs, while recording 26 hits and 11 RBI. She leads the conference and the team with 242 putouts this season.
 
Leading from the circle is senior Avery Croxall. She's notched four wins on the season while holding a 1.28 ERA and .195 OBA. Through 54.2 innings pitched, the senior has struck out a team leading 53 batters.
 
Pacific leads the series against Saint Mary's 23-15 dating back to 2006. The Tigers are 13-11 over the Gaels since returning to the WCC in 2013. A year prior, the two teams met in Stockton with the Tigers going 1-2 against the Gaels. Pacific opened the series by taking the first game 8-1 before Saint Mary's grabbed the last two games 8-6, 8-2.
The Tigers are 11-7 in Moraga dating back to 2006.
 
Saint Mary's exited the non conference slate with a 20-14 record. The Gaels are batting a collective .300 while holding a 3.12 ERA. The Tigers are batting a.256 as a team, while holding a 4.33 ERA.
 
The remaining two games will each be held at noon on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 respectively.
