LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Pacific baseball team gears up for a non-conference, three-game road series at Kansas, beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday at Hoglund Ballpark.
The Tigers (6-26, 1-8 WCC) are coming off their biggest win of the season, defeating CSU Bakersfield at home last Tuesday by a 11-1 score. In that victory, sophomore

This weekend, Pacific makes the trip to the Sunflower State for the first-ever meeting with Kansas (16-14, 7-8 Big 12).
The Jayhawks were tabbed to finish eighth in the 2024 Big 12 preseason poll. The Kansas duo of Kodey Shojinaga and Janson Reeder were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Baseball Team. Shojinaga was a freshman All-American and the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year in 2023. Reeder was selected to the All-Big 12 First Team as a designated hitter a season ago.
This season, the Jayhawks are hitting .285 as a team with Jake English pacing the offense with a .354 batting average, 33 runs and nine home runs.
On the mound, Dominic Voegele holds the Kansas lead in ERA (2.25) through eight starts and 44.0 innings of work. Reese Dutton follows closely behind with a 2.57 ERA through eight starts and 49.0 innings of work.
For Pacific, Petersen has found a groove at the plate, hitting a team-best .275 with a team-high 11 extra-base hits, including three home runs. Camacho is the Pacific leader in home runs with five while hitting .211.
Junior
Ethan Shaver leads the Tigers with a 6.05 ERA through eight starts and 38.2 innings of work.
The series will kick off Friday with a 3 p.m. first pitch. Saturday is set for a noon p.m. first pitch and the series will close with a 11 a.m. contest on Sunday. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
