Softball Hosts UC Davis for Annual Pride Game

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team celebrates Pride as the Tigers battle the Aggies at Bill Simoni Field on Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m.
 
Sophomore Olivia Silvestre leads the Tigers with a .386 batting average on the season. In the Southeastern Louisiana series, she scored a run in all three games, bringing her season total up to 21 runs. In game one against the Lady Lions, the sophomore right fielder tied a career high three hits. She paces the team with 39 hits and seven stolen bases.
 
Senior Rian Dirmeyer bolsters the Tigers offense with a .337 batting average, 15 runs, 34 hits and a team leading five home runs and 16 RBI. Junior Delaney Scully leads both the conference and the Tigers with 230 putouts this season. 
 
Leading from the circle is senior Avery Croxall. After 18 appearances, she's recorded a 1.35 ERA and holds a .195 OBA. Through 55.1 innings pitched, she has struck out a team leading 51 batters, while only allowing 37 hits.
 
The Tigers are in pursuit of their first win over the Aggies since 2018 and their first win in Stockton since 2016. In the last five iterations of the series, four of the five seasons were held in Davis. The last time the two teams met at Bill Simoni Field was in 2022, where the Aggies got the best of the Tigers in extra innings.
 
Pacific last defeated UC Davis at home in 2016, shutting out the Aggies 9-0. After missing the 2017 season, the two met in Fresno and split games over a three day weekend invitational. 
 
The Tigers are hitting .255 as a team and pitching a collective 4.45 ERA. The Aggies are batting at .233 as a team while pitching a combined 2.95 ERA. Pacific holds a 6-13 record at home on the season and UC Davis is in pursuit of its first road win this year.
