STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis officially debuts at home with the Tigers hosting both Sacramento State on Thursday, March 7 at 2 p.m. and Nevada on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
The Tigers (3-3, 0-1 WCC) original home opener was postponed as unfavorable weather moved through the Stockton area last Sunday. A future match with San Francisco will be released at a later date.
Pacific is led behind fifth year senior
Klara Kosan. The two-time singles player of the week winner improved to 4-2 playing from court one after a 2-0 weekend in Southern California. Kosan collected wins over conference opponent LMU and UC San Diego, finishing her singles matches first in both contests.
She's aided by junior
Megan Carmichael and freshman
Indiya McLeod, who combine for a 5-2 singles record. McLeod clinched the match for the Tigers in their 4-0 sweep over the Tritons with a 7-5, 6-1 decision last week.
In doubles, junior
Liza Mladentseva and freshman
Milena Maiorova lead the way with a 5-0 record playing from court three. The pair have enjoyed a one month unbeaten streak, dating back to the first match of the season.
The Tigers have won the last three matches against Sacramento State, last beating the Hornets in Sacramento 4-0 in 2022. They last defeated the Hornets at home 6-1 in 2021. Dating back to 2006, the Tigers are 2-1 in Stockton and seek their first home win of the season on Thursday afternoon.
Returning early on Saturday afternoon, the Tigers host Nevada for their second home match of the year. Pacific is 4-2 against Nevada dating back to 2015. In that time frame, the Tigers are 3-1 at home, last defeating the Pack in Stockton 4-0 in 2019.
