STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team travels to No. 8 Stanford for a midweek road contest on Wednesday, March 6 at 4 p.m.
The Tigers come off a 3-2 weekend in Phoenix, with wins over New Mexico, Toledo and Montana in Grand Canyon's Purple Classic. Heading into Stanford, they'll look for their first road win of the year.
Sophomore
Olivia Silvestre leads all Tigers with a .411 batting average, 11 runs and 23 hits in 56 at bats. Senior
Rian Dirmeyer ranks second on the team with a .279 batting average, 11 runs and 17 hits at a team leading 61 at bats. She ranks first on the team and the WCC in home runs this season with five.
Leading from the circle this season for the Tigers is senior
Avery Croxall. Her 1.12 ERA currently ranks her first in the WCC and 50th in the country. In a team leading 31.1 innings pitched and 11 appearances, she has struck out 34 batters while only allowing nine runs and 24 hits.
Junior
Delaney Scully paves the way for the Tiger defense, with a conference leading 111 putouts so far this year. Dirmeyer ranks second on the team with 72 PO.
Pacific is 1-5 in the last five contests against the Cardinal, with all six of the last competitions between the two programs being held at Stanford. The Tigers last defeated the Cardinal with a 6-0 shutout in 2018. The Cardinal tipped the scale back since then, last beating the Tigers 4-0 in 2022.
The Tigers last defeated a ranked opponent in 2016 with a 2-1 upset over No. 3 LSU in Baton Rouge.
