Portland State Series Moved; Softball Hosts Vikings a Day Earlier

STOCKTON, Calif.- In anticipation of inclement weather, the weekend Pacific softball series against Portland State will now be played on Thursday and Friday. The Tigers and Vikings will square off at Bill Simoni Field at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 with the doubleheader set for Friday afternoon.

Friday's doubleheader will now start at noon, with the second game following at 2 p.m.

Youth & Family/Faculty-Staff Appreciation Day, originally scheduled for Saturday's contest, will be moved to Wednesday, March 27 against Southeastern Louisiana. Tickets already received for this Saturday's game will be honored for Thursday afternoon's game or for next Wednesday.

The Tigers face the Vikings for the sixth time since 2017, with Pacific holding the 3-2 edge in the first five contests. It's the second time in the series history that the two have met in Stockton. The last time the Vikings visited, the Tigers took both contests. Portland State got two back in 2019 and 2022 at two neutral site games before the Tigers reclaimed the series in a 6-5 win in 2022.

The Vikings are in pursuit of their first road win this season, while hoping to maintain their active seven game winning streak. While they are perfect at home this season, the Vikings have struggled to grasp wins away from Hillsboro.

The Tigers are 4-9 at Bill Simoni Field to start the season, while searching for another series sweep after winning their last three game series over CSU Bakersfield.
