STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team, after having held its last eight games at home, heads out on the road for a game against Fresno State on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m.
Sophomore
Olivia Silvestre paces the team with a .375 batting average, 14 runs, 30 hits, six stolen bases and 44 putouts. Last week, she recorded four hits and 11 putouts in eight game appearances. Senior
Rian Dirmeyer ranks second on the team with a .284 batting average, 13 runs and 25 hits. She leads the Tigers with 12 RBI and five home runs.
Junior
Delaney Scully leads both the team and conference with 178 putouts. She's recorded 18 hits, 10 runs and 10 RBI on the season. In her last outing, she tied a season high 12 putouts against Sacramento State.
Leading from the circle is senior
Avery Croxall. She holds a conference leading 1.39 ERA through 45.1 innings pitched. The pitcher has struck out a team leading 48 batters and has recorded a .204 OBA in 15 appearances.
The Tigers are still in pursuit of their first road win of the season, having only played five true road contests through 28 games. They'll go for their first win in Fresno since 2004 after splitting a doubleheader with the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are 10-5 at home this season and return home after a three game series against Nevada.
Pacific last defeated Fresno State in Stockton a season ago 3-1 behind two home runs and shutting down the Bulldogs through six innings.
The team returns to Bill Simoni Field this weekend for a three game series against Portland State. The Tigers open with a doubleheader on Friday, March 22.
