STOCKTON, Calif.- After its first home match of the season, the Pacific beach volleyball team heads back out on the road, traveling to Cal Poly for matches against Santa Clara, North Florida, UC Davis and host Cal Poly starting Saturday, March 16 through Sunday, March 17.
The Tigers grabbed a fours win on Wednesday afternoon as freshman
Mia Rossman and senior
Juliana Alexander downed San Jose State 21-19, 21-19 for their first win of the season. Pacific has four different pairs with a win on the season.
Junior
Ashley Davies and sophomore
Josephine Kinlan have two wins this year, while two pairs, senior
Miranda Baptista and graduate student
Jadyn Tubbs and senior
Camdyn Albrecht and sophomore
Kelea Saxton Vaka, have one apiece.
Pacific is 2-4 all time against the Mustangs. Cal Poly has claimed the last four after the Tigers opened the series 2-0. The Tigers last beat the Mustangs in 2015 with a 5-0 shutout.
Against fellow conference opponent Santa Clara, the Tigers are 8-9 against the Broncos. Pacific started the series 5-0 but Santa Clara has taken the most recent five. The Tigers last won 3-2 in 2021.
The Tigers meet UC Davis for the third time this season, having last played in Davis to start the season. Pacific has the chance to get one back this weekend, after the Aggies took the first two contests.
The team closes the weekend with its first ever match against North Florida. The Ospreys are 9-4 to start the season and 5-3 on a neutral court.
Pacific opens the weekend with a match against Santa Clara on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
