STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team spends the week in Hawai'i, where they will play Illinois State and host Hawai'i in Honolulu on Thursday, March 14 and Saturday, March 16 respectively.
Pacific is led behind its senior captain
Klara Kosan, who boasts a 5-3 singles record so far this season. Her doubles partner, junior
Tomi Main, is 4-3 playing from court two. The pair are 4-4 as a tandem playing from court one and have won their last three doubles matches.
Freshman
Indiya McLeod improved to 4-1 in singles after winning her last three singles matches. She holds a 3-0 record playing from the six. Junior
Liza Mladentseva has won her last two singles matches, improving to 2-1 on the year. She and McLeod teamed up against Nevada, earning their first win together playing from court three in doubles.
The Tigers come off a 4-0 sweep over Nevada at home after splitting their home opening matches. Pacific meets Illinois State for the first time in its more recent history on Thursday afternoon. The Redbirds are 9-3 to start the year and have yet to play in a neutral site match this season.
It's the sixth meeting between the Tigers and Rainbow Warriors dating back to 2006. Pacific is 2-3 in that time span and have yet to win on the road against Hawai'i. The two programs last met in 2018, with the Rainbow Warriors claiming the win 5-1. Hawai'i is 4-3 at home, while the Tigers hold a 2-3 record on the road.
After the trip, the Tigers host six straight home matches, starting with Northern Arizona on Friday, March 22.
