STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team debuts at home, hosting San Jose State on Wednesday, March 13 at the Raney Sand Volleyball Courts.
After a week off, the Tigers prepare for a doubleheader with the Spartans, with the match set to start at 2 p.m. Pacific last played at the Big West/WCC Challenge in Santa Cruz, with the Tigers claiming three pairs wins over Portland, CSU Bakersfield and Sacramento State.
Sophomore
Josephine Kinlan and junior
Ashley Davies recorded their second pairs win of the season after defeating Portland's Taylor Helle and Annika Stammberger 22-20, 21-17. They captured their first against Utah at the start of the season.
Senior
Camdyn Albrecht and sophomore
Kelea Saxton Vaka clinched their first win together over the Roadrunners in a 21-12, 21-16 decision at ones, while senior
Miranda Baptista and graduate student
Jadyn Tubbs won at fours against Sacramento State.
The Tigers and the Spartans have met every year since Pacific's inaugural season. Since 2014, the Tigers are 4-7 overall against San Jose State, while holding a 1-4 record at home. They last defeated the Spartans in 2018 with a 3-2 decision on a neutral court.
Pacific plays two matches against San Jose State in its first of two home events of the 2024 season. The Tigers return home at the end of April to host San Francisco, CSU Bakersfield, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara for a two day event.
