Tigers Take Part in Big West/WCC Challenge

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team prepares for an all match day affair in Santa Cruz as representatives from the Big West and the WCC battle near the boardwalk on Saturday, March 1.

The event features Sacramento State and CSU Bakersfield from the Big West, while Santa Clara, Portland and Pacific represent the WCC in the five team field. The Tigers play their first conference match of the season to start the day, going head-to-head with Portland at 10 a.m.

Pacific is 1-4 against the Pilots in its last five matchups. The Tigers last defeated Portland 3-2 in Santa Monica during the WCC tournament in 2019.

The Tigers end the day with two matches, starting with CSU Bakersfield at 1 p.m. Pacific searches for its first win over the Roadrunners as CSU Bakersfield has claimed the past four matches. The two teams have yet to meet on a neutral court, having only ever played in Bakersfield.

Pacific wraps up the day with Sacramento State at 2 p.m. The Tigers are 3-7 in the past ten meetings with the Hornets, last defeating them in Sacramento 3-2 in 2021.
