Beach Volleyball Makes Season Debut in Davis

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team opens its 2024 season on the road, as the Tigers travel to UC Davis to take on both the Aggies and Utah on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25.

The Tigers (0-0) play both teams over the course of the weekend, starting with early morning competition with the Utes on Friday at 10 a.m. They follow with a match against host Davis at noon.

Pacific is 1-0 over the Utes since their inaugural season in 2013. The two programs last met in 2017, with the Tigers capturing the 3-2 win.

Despite their proximity, the Tigers have only met UC Davis four times, all coming in the past six years. The Aggies are 4-0 over the Tigers, last defeating them 5-0 in 2023 in both Stockton and Davis.

The Tigers feature returners senior Camdyn Albrecht and sophomore Josephine Kinlan. They are joined by freshmen Makayla Beckett and Mia Rossman and sophomore transfer Kelea Saxton Vaka. Junior Ashley Davies makes her beach volleyball debut after spending her first semester with the indoor volleyball team. Also making the leap into beach volleyball, is senior Juliana Alexander, who joins from the women's soccer team.

Pacific opens the second day in Davis playing Utah at 11:30 a.m. The Tigers conclude their first weekend of competition with a match with UC Davis on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
