Women's Tennis Champions its HOF Inductee in Match at UC Davis

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team highlights its weekend with a match against UC Davis on Friday, Feb. 23 at noon.

Friday has the makings of a particularly unique match as later that evening, Pacific women's tennis alum Tracee Lee '95 will be inducted into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame.

Lee played under the Aggies' current head coach Bill Maze during his five year tenure (1990-1995) at Pacific. While with the Tigers, Maze guided Pacific to four runner up finishes in the Big West Conference. In his final year and Lee's senior season, the team ranked No. 34 in the nation.

Lee bookended her time at Pacific with two NCAA Tournament appearances under Maze's guidance. In her first season with the Tigers, she advanced to the Round of 16 in singles. She returned to the tournament her senior year to compete in the doubles field.

Lee, alongside some of her former teammates, will be in attendance for Friday's match. At the conclusion of the contest, the group, including Maze, will journey back to Stockton for the ceremony.

The Tigers (1-2) have a thorough history with UC Davis (4-6), a testament to their time together in the Big West and their proximity. The Aggies have turned the competitive tide since the Tigers returned to the West Coast Conference, winning eight of the last nine matches. Pacific last defeated UC Davis in Davis in 2015, with a 4-3 decision.

Pacific prepares for its third road match in a row, having last traveled to No. 3 Stanford a week ago. The Tigers came away with the doubles point, after senior Klara Kosan and junior Tomi Main clinched it on court one 6-3. The pair earned the WCC weekly doubles team honor for the feat.
