INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team closed out play at the Wyoming Match Play on Tuesday with a 2-2-2 tie against Wyoming in the fourth-place match. The teams went then into a team playoff with a combined score of five players and the Tigers ultimately finished sixth in the bracket format tournament with a 1-2 record.
"It was a different format playing a match play tournament this week," Pacific head coach
John Cook said. "We are taking a lot of positives away from this week and will be excited to get back on the course in Phoenix in a couple of weeks."
Colorado earned the team title with a 4-1-1 win over Cal State Fullerton. Sacramento State finished third with a win over UC Irvine via tie breaker for most holes won. Utah State secured seventh place after defeating UC Santa Barbara, 4-2-0.
The Tigers return to action on March 12-13 for the Grand Canyon Invitational at Grand Canyon Golf Course.
