INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team earned a split on Monday on the first day of the Wyoming Match Play at the Indian Wells Golf Resort Player's Course. The Tigers dropped a tiebreaker to Sacramento State (2-2-2) in the opening round but responded with a 4-1-1 win over Utah State in the afternoon.
"After a tough battle with Sacramento State this morning, we responded great this afternoon and our looking forward to tomorrow's match with Wyoming," Pacific head coach
John Cook said.
Cal State Fullerton earned a pair of victories on the opening day along with Colorado as the two will play for the championship tomorrow. UC Irvine and Sacramento State will play for third place. Utah State and UC Santana Barbara will play for seventh place.
The event will conclude on Tuesday morning with the Tigers looking to finish in fifth place, facing Wyoming in the final round. Live scoring can be found
