LAS VEGAS – The Pacific swimming program wrapped up the UNLV Invite Wednesday at Jim Reitz Pool, remaining in fifth place on the men's side and sixth place on the women's side.
Highlighted by a pair of top four finishes in the 100 yard IM, Pacific held their ground on the last day of competition in Las Vegas. The Tigers accumulated 217 points on the women's squad and 432 points on the men's squad.
Senior
Paige Sondgeroth and senior
Mitchell Hopper, captains of the Pacific swimming team, earned fourth and third place respectively in the A finals of the 100 yard IM.
Hopper placed top five in the 100 yard freestyle, notching an A finals time of 44.56 seconds. Freshman
Nate Rasmussen and junior
Ethan Cole were the top finishers of the B finals of the men's 200 yard butterfly and the men's 200 yard breaststroke.
In the relay events, the Tigers locked down fourth place in the men's 400 yard freestyle with a time of 2:59.11.
Pacific will enjoy the holiday break before resuming in a jam-packed January schedule, taking on Cal Baptist in its first swimming competition of 2025.
