STOCKTON, Calif. – The NCAA Released its annual Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data for 2014-17, and Pacific Athletics saw eight programs earn a perfect 100 score.
Among the perfect scores were beach volleyball, cross country/track & field, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming, women's tennis, volleyball and women's water polo. Additionally, men's golf and women's basketball both broke 90 or above.
It marked the third consecutive year that the Tigers garnered at least eight perfect scores. The Pacific cross country/track & field program has recorded a perfect 100 for the last 15 years, the longest streak among programs in the department.
Other active 100 streaks for Pacific included softball for six straight years, volleyball five, women's tennis four, beach volleyball four, women's swimming three, women's water polo three and women's soccer two.
"The academic success of our student-athletes is paramount at Pacific and I'm very proud to celebrate the academic achievements of so many programs within our department. The collaborative efforts of our student-athletes, coaches, administration and academic support staff continue to propel our student-athletes to tremendous heights in the classroom," said director of athletics Adam Tschuor.
The GSR measures graduation rates for student-athletes by team. It considers student-athletes who are on scholarship their first year and who graduate from their respective universities or leave their programs, via transfer to other universities or for professional opportunities, while in good academic standing.
