SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Creating separation early in the second half, the No. 4 Pacific men's water polo program held off No. 13 Harvard in the end for a 14-13 victory at a neutral site Friday at the Sullivan Aquatic Center as part of the Julian Fraser Memorial, hosted by Santa Clara.

It was the second win of the season for Pacific (14-1, 2-0 WCC) over Harvard (16-5, 5-0 IVY) after posting a 15-14 victory on the road on Sept. 8. The Tigers improved to 8-1 all-time against the Crimson.

Matthew Hosmer led the charge with his third consecutive hat trick and fourth of the season. He's up to 32 goals on the year, the second most on the team.

The Tigers led 10-9 at half when they opened the second with three consecutive goals to go up 13-9. It included scores from Hosmer, D'Souza and Pembertty. Pacific shutout Harvard in the third quarter.

Pacific remained ahead 14-10 with 3:08 left in the fourth after a goal by Gyemant. Little time was left for Harvard to come back despite scoring three times in the closing minutes including a last-second goal when the game was out of reach.

The Tigers will remain on the road next Sunday when they head to Air Force for a 12 p.m. West Coast Conference match-up. Pacific's next home game is Friday, Nov. 8 when it hosts No. 17 Santa Clara at 7 p.m. at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
