Swim Holds Senior Day Meet against Simon Fraser

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific swim team holds its final home meet of the year, hosting Simon Fraser for its Senior Day. The Tigers race at the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m.
 
The men (2-3) come off a dual meet with Stanford. In a competitive day of racing, the Tigers collected six new top-times this season. The women (2-4) return for their first meet of the new year, having last competed at the UNLV Invite in December.
 
Against Stanford, the men took three third place finishes. Junior Leland Baltazar took two after clocking a 23.84 in the 50 back and a 2:48.50 in the 300 free. Junior Srboljub Filipovic took third with a 26.69 in the 50 breast. 
 
The women earned 37 new top-five times this year at the UNLV invite between the meet's prelims and finals. Seven of the new top times came from the relays. Senior Caitlin Tan took two of the best times this season in the 100 fly, racing to a new season best for the Tigers with a 55.08. She returned later with the fastest time seen this year in the 200 fly, finishing with a 2:04.94.
 
Junior Jadyn Phillips and sophomore Diana Chan each claimed the new top-four times seen this year in the 500 free in Las Vegas. Phillips took the top spot with a 5:03.24.
 
Junior Alexia Ferguson saw some of her best racing this season in Las Vegas, earning new top-times in three events. In the 50 free, she earned the second best time by a Tiger with a 23.91. In the 100 free, she clocked the third best with a 51.41 and for the 200 free she finished with the second best time with a 1:51.94, just .15 of a second shy of her season best. 
 
The Tigers host Simon Fraser for the second time, last hosting the Red Leafs in Stockton a year ago. The women claimed the 162-153 victory, while the men cruised to a 206-107 win over Simon Fraser.
