LOS ANGELES – Pacific baseball (14-35, 6-21) concluded in a close loss to LMU (29-22, 21-6). The Tigers scored four times in the last two innings, but the comeback attempt fell just short, falling 9-6.
Graduate
Ben Nemivant had two hits, both doubles and drove in a run. Junior
Chase Graves had two hits and drove in two runs with a home run.
Freshman
Caden Casagrande started the game and pitched one inning, allowing four runs on three hits. Sophomore
Jarryd Wood pitched 3.0 innings in relief, allowing three runs with one strikeout.
It was all LMU early, as the Lions scored four runs in the first inning and once in the second, taking an early 5-0 lead. Nemivant got the Tigers in the scoring column with an RBI double to center.
LMU put two more on the board in the fourth and fifth innings to reach nine runs. Freshman
Jake Tandy singled home a run in the seventh inning before a Graves home run in the eighth added two more runs as the junior hit a missile to left center to make it a 9-4 game.
Two more runs came across in the top of the ninth for the Tigers, as Selfridge reached on a fielding error, bringing home junior
John-Howard Bobo. Freshman
Tony Otis wrapped up the scoring with an RBI double to left.
