SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Pacific baseball (10-19, 3-9) could not withstand the onslaught of offense from Santa Clara (16-11, 6-6) during Saturday afternoon's rubber match. The Broncos scored all but one of their runs in the fifth inning or later in the 17-2 Santa Clara win.

Ben Nemivant had a team-high three hits and drove in both runs. Graduate

Chase Graves all had hits. Graves and freshman
Jack Metcho both scored runs.
Senior
Marvcus Guarin started the game and pitched 4.2 innings, striking out five and allowing five runs on six hits. Five Tiger relief pitchers threw the final 3.1 innings, walking just two batters while striking out three.
Santa Clara hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to take an early 1-0 lead. Nemivant responded in the top of the third with an RBI double to right center bringing home Graves.
Nemivant gave Pacific the lead in the fifth inning with an RBI triple to right center, bringing Metcho home. The Tiger lead did not last long, as the Broncos scored four runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning to take a game-winning lead.
The Broncos scored 12 more runs in three innings to reach the final, and the series win.
Pacific is back home at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 10, when the Tigers host Sacramento State.
