STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific softball team dropped its final home game of the season, falling to Saint Mary's 8-2 in a West Coast Conference contest at Bill Simoni Field.
 
"It's not how you want your last home game to go," Head Coach Brian Kolze said after the game. "We didn't much at the plate but had a couple of good swings from Allie [Capello] and Jordan [Hayes]."
 
The Tigers (10-27, 1-11) fell behind in the third inning when the Gaels' (17-25, 7-5) Marissa Nishihara tallied a two-RBI base hit to give the team a 2-0 advantage. The Gaels plated one more run in the fourth, increasing their lead to three.
 
Allie Capello put the Tigers on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with a one-out single to right-center field. After Jordan Hayes walked to open the inning, a single and a fielding error from the centerfielder Hannah Ferguson allowed Hayes to round the bases for the Tigers' first run.
 
Hayes later ripped a solo shot over the right-center field fence for her second home run of the season.
 
Pacific returns to action on Friday, May 5, when it travels to take on BYU in a West Coast Conference doubleheader at Gail Miller Park.
