SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Pacific had nine women's cross country runners finish in the women's open race at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara. The Tigers finished seventh in the 18-team field that included college teams, junior colleges and club programs.
Three freshmen led the way for the Tigers with
Cathrine Groenbech crossing the line first for Pacific in the 6K race in the time of 23:21.4 for a season-best time. She placed 36
th of the 201 runners, including a 26
th among the scoring runners. Freshmen
Emma Kaufman and
Valeria Espinoza were also at the front for the Tigers, finishing in 35
th and 44
th among the scoring runners. Kaufman finished in 23:37.4 and Espinoza, 23:57.7, both season bests at the 6K distance. Senior
Sophie Pazzo was next and finished in 24:03.0. Freshman
Keeli Reinken was the fifth runner across the line in 24:10.6, a season best.

Briteny Goriye and freshman
Alexa Myers all completed the race for the Tigers. Goriye had a season best at 27:07.1.
Saturday's event is the final tune-up for the Tigers for the West Coast Conference Championships, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, on the Pepperdine campus in Malibu, Calif.
