Tiger Men's Water Polo Knocks Off Brown For Fifth Straight Win

Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Pacific men's water polo team (5-0) outscored host Brown in every quarter and held the #19 Bears to seven goals in a 17-7 Labor Day morning contest to wrap up the Bruno Classic. The #5 Tigers return home with a 5-0 mark to open the season.
 
Senior Matthew Hosmer scored five goals for the second time on the weekend to pace the offensive attack. He finished the Bruno Classic with a team-best 16 goals in the five games. Senior Bogdan DJerkovic and sophomore Reuel D'Souza each added four goals. Senior Djordje Stanic also had a multi-goal contest with two tallies.
 
Senior Joey MacLeane was in the net for the defensive effort. The Bears were limited to just two goals in each of the first two periods and did not score in the fourth.
 
Pacific returns to action on Friday with a 5 p.m. contest at #1 California (4-0). The Bears had a similar successful East Coast season-opening trip to Annapolis for the Navy Open.
 
The Tigers open the home season at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 against #2 USC at Chris Kjeldsen Pool at the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
