SAN FRANCISCO – The Tigers scored first but could not hold the lead in the season's final game. The Dons scored early and often to take the 12-6 win.
Jarron Silva had two hits, and
Jeremy Lea and
Chase Graves both drove in two runs. Lea hit a home run, and
Jarron Silva and
James McClenaghan both hit doubles.
Chaz Myers scored two runs.
Thomas Gavello walked twice.
Hunter Hayes started the game and pitched two innings with two strikeouts.
Zach Patterson pitched four innings with five strikeouts and six hits allowed.
Chase Graves started the scoring off with an RBI single to third. A throwing error by the third baseman allowed a second run to score. The Dons reeled off four straight runs in the second to take the lead.
The Tigers tied the game in the third, with a Lea two-run home run to left field to tie the game at four. The Dons retook the lead in the bottom of the third with a two-run single.
The Tigers scored twice in the sixth inning as
Aidan Selfridge and Graves had RBI singles on the infield.
It was all Dons after that, scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth inning and three times in the eighth inning to reach the final of 12-6.
