STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers battled Loyola Marymount in a low-scoring defensive battle. The Lions rode a solid first quarter to a 66-56 win over the Tigers.
Elizabeth Elliott led the Tigers with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Liz Smith had 13 points with three assists and played a team-high 35 minutes.
Erica Adams led the team with three steals.
The two teams stayed close early, with the Tigers trailed by less than five for most of the quarter. The Lions pulled away late in the quarter as the Tigers headed into the second quarter down by 10. The second quarter was the tightest of the game, with the Lions outscoring the Tigers by only one.
Sam Ashby hit two threes in the final three minutes of the quarter to bring the Tigers within 11.
The Tigers outscored the Lions in the third quarter, holding the Lions to only 10 points in the quarter.

Anaya James layup brought the lead to one score for the Lions. Timely three-point shooting and offensive rebounding helped the Lions stave off the Tigers for the victory.
