Walter Chang Golf & Learning Center Highlighted by Golfweek

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf program was recently honored by Golfweek, a magazine and digital outlet of USA Today Network, for the newly-opened Walter Chang Golf and Learning Center at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

Opened in early 2020, the facility is named after the program's long-time supporter, Walter Chang, who earned his bachelor's degree from Pacific's Eberhardt School of Business in 1982.

"The new Walter Chang Golf and Learning Center is a first class facility that will help the current team members enhance their game as well as help attract top tier recruits to join the Tiger family," said head coach John Cook.

In total, the Tigers' new facility measures out to 4,200 square feet and features coaches offices, a conference room, team lounge, locker room, alumni locker room, a kitchen and three hitting bays with swing-analysis technology.

Beginning in 2017 with the dedication of the Dr. Glen Albaugh Short Game Area, athletes can use this space to improve their skillset as it includes three chipping greens and areas to putt. Due to generous donations, the diverse terrain also includes seven bunkers as well as Bermudagrass greens, allowing the Tigers to practice a variety of shots.
