Tigers Officially Sign Adams and Smith

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball program has officially announced the commitment of two high school recruits to the university: Erica Adams of San Ramon, Calif. and Liz Smith of Dallas, Texas.

Head coach Bradley Davis is thrilled to welcome these two new players to Pacific, saying, "We're excited about this incoming class.  Aside from their skills and talents, I'm confident that Liz and Erica are great fits for the program, and come to us with a few intangibles; work ethic, competitiveness and a will to win that the Tiger family will embrace wholeheartedly."

Making the short trip from the Bay Area, Adams will join the Tigers in the fall of 2020 after four years at California High School in San Ramon. During her time with the Grizzlies, the 5'10" guard was a two-time Jim Capoot Heart and Hustle Award winner, Second Team All-EBAL selection and the SoCal Holiday Classic NCAA Division MVP. She also averaged 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals while shooting 41% from behind-the-arc in her junior season. Born to Eric Adams and Chavonne Swayne, Erica plans to major in health, exercise and sports science as she aims to pursue a career in sports medicine.

Coach Davis said, "Erica has a tireless work ethic, and plays with energy and a joy for the game that is infectious. Erica is a talented combo guard whose speed and athleticism enable her to make a difference on both ends of the floor. Erica is local and already proud to be a Tiger.  I know she will fit right in with our Pacific family."

Hailing from the Lonestar state, Liz Smith joins the Orange and Black after four years at the IMG Academy in Bradenton Fla. While with the Ascenders, Smith has tallied 900+ points, 250+ assists and 200+ steals. She was also named the team's Most Improved Player in 2018. Born to Jennifer Thibeaux, a former gymnast, and Kevin Smith, a three-time Super bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys, athletic success runs deep in the family. Liz plans to major in communications as she aims to be a sports broadcaster following a professional career playing basketball. Ultimately, Liz chose UOP over a host of other universities and will also join the Tigers in the fall of 2020.

Furthermore, Coach Davis feels Smith will be a great addition to the team: "Liz is the consummate point guard. She really can do it all.  She has a high basketball IQ and great court vision. Liz has the ability to create for other and score when necessary.  Her ability to get to the rack and shoot from distance are going to make her a tough scout, but it's her competitiveness and will to win that stood out to us during the recruiting process. I'm fired up that Liz has chosen to be a Tiger."

Liz and Erica will join a Tiger team for a 2020-2021 season that returns 12 from this year's team.
