LAST TIME OUT:
  • Pacific kicked off the 2019-20 regular season with a resounding win over University of Missouri-Kansas City in the opening round of the Preseason WNIT. Junior Brooklyn McDavid was named the City of Stockton Human Resources Hard Working Player of the Game after tallying a game-high 26 points while also adding four rebounds, two steals and one assists.
  • Coming in as the reigning WCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-WCC First Team Selection, redshirt junior Valerie Higgins picked up right where she left off, wreaking havoc on both sides of the ball as she notched 17 points in the victory. Additionally, Higgins led both teams with game-highs in rebounds (7), assists (5) and steals (6). The Granada Hills, Calif. native recorded six steals for the first time this season, a feat she previously accomplished three times in 2018-19.
  • Playing in her first game in the Orange and Black, redshirt senior Sofie Tryggedsson poured in 14 points for the Tigers, hitting four first-half threes as Pacific outscored the Roos 28-8 in the second quarter.
  • Just like Tryggedsson, junior Isabel Newman would also contribute to the strong offensive night for UOP, going a perfect 4-4 from behind-the-arc to score 12 points in 18 minutes of play.
  • Enjoying their home floor, all eligible players got minutes for UOP as freshman Sam Ashby and Madelene Ennis each got on the court for the first time as Tigers. Additionally, redshirt freshman Cassidy Johnson notched her first collegiate bucket with 1:16 left in the contest.
  • The Tigers capitalized immensely from points off UMKC turnovers, outscoring the Roos 36-6 in this category. Furthermore, Pacific's bigs dictated the flow of the game in the paint as UOP doubled the Roos output, 36-18.

  • Oregon State comes into the game ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll and No. 6 in the WBCA Coaches Poll, with both rankings coming as the highest preseason marks in program history.
  • Oregon State is 143-31 since the start of the 2014-15 season, the seventh-best record in the nation over that span, trailing only UConn, Notre Dame, Baylor, Maryland, South Carolina and Louisville.
