Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific field hockey team secured its second win of the season in a 2-1 victory over Providence College.
In Case You Missed You It:
- In the 11th minute of the game, Rylee Comeau scored off a pass from Gabriella Fondario to give Pacific a 1-0 lead.
- There were seven penalty corners awarded in the first, four of which were from the Tigers.
- Pacific outshot Providence 11-6 in the first half with Kriekie Van Wyk leading the charge with 4 shots on goal
- In the last 10 minutes of the game, Gabriella Fondario helped push Pacific to 2-0 after receiving a pass from Taylor Dempsey.
- Providence ended the Tigers shutout three minutes later after scoring off a penalty corner.
- Pacific was on the defensive in the final 10 minutes after receiving three green cards.
By the Numbers:
- Pacific outshot Providence 11-6 in the first half with Kriekie Van Wyk leading the charge with 4 shots on goal. She finished with five shots on goal.
- Marlise van Tonder finished with seven saves, five came in the first half with two saves in the final two minutes of the half to ensure a first half shutout.
- The Orange and Black improve to 2-1-0 on the season.

"We would all like to win by playing the beautiful game. Some days you have to battle hard and just push through. Today was one of those days, at times we were wonderful and others we had to fight. We are happy to take the win and move on to prepare for the next game."
