Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific struggled in a tough match against #4 University of Maryland, dropping the season opener on Friday, August 24, 3-0.

Coach Andy Smith's comments:
"I thought we acquitted ourselves wonderfully and very well against a very good team. They were fantastic but we were right there with them. It was an education for us in terms of where we want to be as a program. We aren't that far away and hopefully today will be a good building block for Sunday and thereafter."
