Tigers add Chris Rodriguez as coach

Pacific baseball announced the addition of Chris Rodriguez to the coaching staff today as a volunteer assistant. Rodriguez joins the Tigers after a stint at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, that started in 2012.

 While at San Joaquin Delta, Rodriguez worked primarily with the catchers and oversaw the development of 11 players that went on to play professionally and helped numerous other catchers to scholarships at the Division I level.

From 2007 to 2012, Rodriguez worked at Modesto Junior College both as the program's head coach from 2009-12 and as an assistant from 2007-09. Rodriguez also played for two seasons at Modesto Junior College before being drafted into the Rockies organization in 1996. Rodriguez reached High A ball when he played for the Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League before ending his playing career.

 Rodriguez earned an associate's degree from MJC, a bachelor's degree from Stanislaus State and went on to pursue and complete a master's degree in sports coaching from the United Sports Academy.
