STOCKTON, Calif. – Wednesday evening President Pamela Eibeck invited members of the Pacific family, both current and former, to bid farewell to Director of Athletics Ted Leland as he is set to retire from his current position in just over a week.
The night was filled with great memories and those were expressed by a number of individuals.
Former football player and current Chief Judge of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of California, Morrison England stood and spoke about playing for Leland in the 1970's, while Seattle Seahawks head coach and Pacific hall of famer Pete Carroll and New England Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia sent along a video wishing Leland well in his retirement.
Scarnecchia served as the University of the Pacific's offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator from 1977-1979.
President Eibeck gifted Leland with some Pacific gear as well as a picture of himself with his wife, Stephanie, which was signed by all guests in attendance.
