Stockton, Calif. - The No. 3 Pacific men's water polo team plays host to No. 18 Bucknell Friday at 7 p.m. under the lights at Chris Kjeldsen Pool before a trip down to Los Angeles to face No. 2 UCLA on Sunday.
The Tigers (14-2, 2-0 MPSF) are coming off a 22-10 win UC Davis last Friday. Senior Balasz Erdelyi tallied a season-high eight goals against the Aggies.
Erdelyi bumped his season total to 53 goals and his career scoring total to 244, one back of fourth on the Tigers' all-time scoring list.
Pacific remained No. 3 in the polls this week, as USC took over the top spot and UCLA dropped to No. 2 following a loss to No. 4 Stanford. Both Pacific and UCLA enter the weekend with losses to No. 1 USC and to No. 4 Stanford. The Tigers own a pair of wins over Stanford, while the Bruins hold a 19-2 record and a win over the Trojans.
The Bison moved up from No. 20 to No. 18 this week thanks to a four-game win streak. Bucknell enters at 10-4 on the season, including a win over No. 12 Princeton.
The Tigers will be playing just their third home game of the season, with tournament play monopolizing the Pacific schedule. In the last home game, the Tigers topped then No. 3 Stanford in front of 758 fans at Kjeldsen Pool.
Friday's match will be streamed live on Pacific Tigers TV, online at PacificTigers.com.
