The No. 11 Pacific men's water polo team dropped a 12-5 decision to No. 6 Loyola Marymount in the opening round of the SoCal Tournament at the Burns Aquatic Center on the Loyola Marymount campus. The Tigers then fell in a close contest 12-10 to No. 15 Princeton in the second round.
After the losses, the Tigers fell to 8-10 on the season.
Against Loyola Marymount, the Tigers were led by junior Grant Hollis (Redlands, Calif.), who scored two goals. Seniors Shane Mahoney (Lodi, Calif.), William Milcovich (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and sophomore Austin Delong each added a goal for Pacific.
In the second match of the day, Milcovich led the team with four goals, while Mahoney contributed three scores. Hollis, Delong and senior Brett Hirsch (Brea, Calif.) each scored a goal for the Tigers.
Senior goalkeeper Brian Domecus (Vallejo, Calif.) had seven saves in the first game and 14 saves in the loss to Princeton.
The Tigers will next be in action in the third round of the SoCal Tournament with an 8:00 a.m. contest with Bucknell at the Burns Aquatic Center.
