No. 15 Tigers Win Over No. 16 Air Force in East Meets West Tournament Opener, 13-9

Colorado Springs, Colo. - With the help of five goals by senior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) and four from senior Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia), the Pacific men's water polo team opened up play at the East Meets West Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo. with a 13-9 win over Air Force. With the win the Tigers moved to 4-8 on the season, while the Eagles dropped to 4-8 on the year. Pacific is Currently 0-1 in MPSF play.

In the win, the Tigers were down by two after being held scoreless in the first period. The team rallied back behind senior leadership though after the slow start, by scoring four goals in the second and third periods and adding five more in the fourth to solidify the victory.

Other Tigers adding goals in the win were Mike Struempf (Pleasant Hill, Calif.), Shane Mahoney (Lodi, Calif.), and Andy Skora (San Clemente, Calif.). Struempf scored two goals in the contest, while Mahoney and Skora each scored once a piece.

The Pacific men's water polo team will continue action at the East Meets West Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo. when they play No. 19 Cal Baptist at 2:00 p.m. Cal Baptist won their first game of the tournament over Cal Lutheran this morning by a score of 12-8.

Pacific: 0 - 4 - 4 - 5 = 13

Air Force: 2 - 3 - 0 - 4 = 9
