Stockton, Calif. Despite senior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) scoring four goals against No. 5 UC Irvine, the No. 13 Pacific men's water polo team fell to the Anteaters by a score of 13-7 in Stockton, Calif. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 14-15 on the year and 1-5 in games on the season, while the Anteaters improved to 10-8 with the win and are now 3-2 in MPSF contests this season.
Kaurloto scored the first two of his four goals of the contest in the first quarter as he opened the game trading goals with UC Irvine's Tim Hutten to tie the contest at 2-2. Hutten went on to score three more goals throughout the game to lead all scorers with five, while Kaurloto recorded the second most goals in the game with four.
Later, after Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia) scored the Tigers loan goal of the second quarter, the Tigers went into halftime down by seven as the score was 10-3. In addition to Kaurloto scoring twice more in the game, Will Milcovich (Walnut Creek, Calif.) scored once for the Tigers in the third period and Shane Mahoney (Lodi, Calif.) closed out the game scoring a goal of his own right before the contest concluded.
Brian Domecus (Vallejo, Calif.) was in goal for the Tigers and had seven saves in the game, while Matt Garcia was the goalkeeper for the Anteaters and recorded seven saves of his own in the contest.
The Tigers next game will be against Stanford on Nov. 4. The contest will start at noon and will be played at Delta Junior College in Stockton, Calif.
