No. 13 Pacific Takes Down No. 7 Long Beach State, 11-10

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's water polo team upset No. 7 Long Beach State by a score of 11-10 on Oct. 28 in Stockton, Calif. In the game, the Tigers scored eight second half goals as senior Andy Skora (San Clemente, Calif.) netted his fourth of the game with 58 seconds left o secure the Tiger victory and to finalize the impressive comeback.

With the win, Pacific advanced to 15-14 on the year and 1-4 in MPSF play. The 49ers are now 14-10 on the season and 1-4 in MPSF contests.

Long Beach State started the game strong by outscoring Pacific 6-3 in the first half. However, the Tigers would fight their way back into the game outscoring the 49ers 4-2 in the third quarter and finally taking their first lead of the game with five minutes in the contest. Although the 49ers scored with 1:23 left in the game, the Tigers kept their composure and scored the game winner less than 30 seconds later.

Junior Brian Domecus (Vallejo, Calif.) was in goal for the Tigers in the win. Domecus shut down Long Beach State in the second half holding the 49ers to a total of ten goals in the game and only four in the second half. Domecus recorded 11 saves in the contest.

Complimenting Skora's four goals were Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia), who scored four goals of his own in the game. Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) added two more goals for the Tigers and Kenny Yamamoto scored once to round out the scoring four the Tigers. All eleven goals for the Tigers were scored by seniors in the victory.

The Pacific men's water polo team will next be in action on Nov. 3 against UC Irvine. The game will start at noon and will be played at Delta Junior College in Stockton, Calif.
