Irvine, Calif. - The No. 7 ranked Pacific men's water polo team defeated No. 10 ranked Long Beach State in MPSF Tournament action on Saturday, November 25th.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 16-16 and will face UC Santa Barbara in the fifth place game on Sunday, November 26th at 11AM.
Pacific, who held a 7-6 halftime advantage, got five goals from senior Matt Turnbull (Act, Australia), including the game winner. Junior goalie Brian Domecus (Vallejo, Calif.) held the ball with five seconds remaining and found Turnbull open down pool. Turnbull's shot found the back of the cage with just one second remaining to give the Tigers the 11-10 win.
Junior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) added three goals, while Domecus recorded nine blocks for the Tigers.
