Los Angeles, Calif. - The No. 5 ranked Pacific men's water polo team fell to No. 1 USC by the score of 23-12 on Saturday, Oct. 6th in Los Angeles, Calif. at McDonalds Swim Stadium.
With the loss, the Tigers fall to 10-7, 0-1 in the MPSF, while USC improves to 11-0, 3-0 in the MPSF, extending their win streak to 30.
The Tigers held two different leads during the first period of play, leading 3-2, and then 4-3 before USC tied it up with less than five seconds left in the period. The Trojans never looked back, outscoring the Tigers 19-8 the rest of the contest, including 7-1 in the second period.
Junior All-American Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia) scored four goals to pace the Tigers, while junior goalie Brian Domecus (Vallejo, Calif.) collected three blocks in three periods of play.
Juan Delgadillo led USC with four goals as 13 Trojan players recorded goals in the contest.
The Tigers will be back in action at McDonalds Swim Stadium next weekend as USC hosts the SoCal Tournament. In pool play the Tigers will take on No. 17 Air Force, followed by No. 4 UC San Diego.
