Stockton, Calif.- No.9 Pacific fell to 10-8 on the season, 0-2 in MPSF play after dropping a 14-10 decision to No. 7 UC Irvine. With the win, the Anteaters move to 11-9 on the season, 2-1 in MPSF play.
With the scored tied 3-3 after one period of play, UC Irvine exploded for six second-quarter goals to take a 9-5 halftime lead. The Tigers scored two goals out of the halftime break to cut the UC Irvine lead to 9-7, but it was as close as Pacific would get.
Junior Matt Turnbull (Act, Australia) led the way for the Tigers with 4 goals, while sophomore Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia) had a good all-around game adding two goals, two assists, three steals and two kick-outs drawn.
Tim Hutten led the way for UC Irvine, scoring an impressive seven goals on just ten shot attempts. Dreason Barry contributed two goals and five assists on the afternoon as well.
Pacific will next be in action on Oct. 27th as they travel to Berkeley to take on Cal in an MPSF matchup.
