Jennifer (Joines) Tamas became the third former Pacific women’s volleyball player to participate in the Olympic Games for the United States, joining the team for the 2008 Games in Beijing, China, where Team USA took home the silver medal.  Elaina Oden and Jayne (Gibson) McHugh are the other two Pacific volleyball alumnae to play in the Olympics. McHugh played at Seoul, South Korea, in 1988, while Oden played in 1992 at Barcelona, Spain, and in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Former Pacific head coach Taras Liskevych retired from Pacific in 1985 to take over the U.S. National Team and coached the squad through three Summer Olympics before retiring in 1996. Eileen Dempster-Howard was a member of the U.S. National Team in 1986, while Teri McGrath was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1988 to 1991.
