Stockton, Calif. - Announced by head coach Josh Jones on Monday, June 17, the Pacific cross country team has added another runner for the 2013 season as Sarah Bailey will transfer to Pacific for the upcoming season. Bailey will come to Pacific after spending the last two years at Jacksonville University where she ran both cross country and track for the Dolphins.
A native of Vernon BC, Canada, Bailey made an immediate impact at Jacksonville by winning her first collegiate meet, the JU Short Course Duals with a time of 13:07.01. Throughout her young career, Bailey has recorded personal best times of 19:00 in the 5K and 5:04.76 in the mile. Her true expertise, however has come on the track where she posted personal records of 4:38.99 in the 1500 and 2:13.87 in the 800. She will be looked to lead the Tigers' track team in the Spring of 2014 when the team enters just its second year of action.
"We are very excited to have Sarah join our program," said Jones. "She brings competitiveness and depth to our young team. We look forward to having her experience help propel our team as we enter the West Coast Conference."
