2013-2014 (Senior): Rush finished in 23:14.50 in her only 5K action of the season, at the Hornet Jamboree in September. Her season best 6K time came at the Bronco Invite in October, finishing in 27:51.7.
Track 2013: Rush competed in the 5K at the Kim Dyust Invitational, finishing with a 19:44. At the SF State Distance Carnival, Rush competed in the two-mile run with a time of 13:43.60.
2012-13 (Junior): Rush's best time in a 5K opened the season at the USF Invitational when she crossed the line with a time of 23:08. She clocked her best time in a 6K at the Sonoma State Invite with a time of 26:37.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Rush had by far her best season with the Tigers as a sophomore, improving in almost every race and setting two personal records. Her best time came at the 2011 Big West Championships where she crossed the finish line with a time of 25:21.40. Rush's finish at the league championships was part of the best team time in the history of Pacific Cross Country.
2010 (Freshman): Rush set a personal record twice in 2010 at the Bronco Invite and the Big West Championships. Her personal record set at the Big West Championships sits a 26:14.60, which is the 21st best time in Tiger history in the 6000m.
Rush graduated from Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz. She ran track and distance cross country, participating in both the mile and two mile events. Rush was awarded the Principal’s Award for academic success all four years of high school. Outside of school, Rush ran with the AZ Heat Elite club team.
Personal: Cassi Rush was born in Phoenix, Ariz. and is the daughter of David and Michelle Rush. She has four older brothers--Kyle, 26, Cory, 24, Cody, 23, Carson, 21--and a younger sister, Kristi, 15. Rush is majoring in biology with hopes to pursue a career in dental hygiene. In her free time, Cassi loves to run, read, hike and go off-roading.
