Final Conference Homestand Awaits
This Week In Tiger Volleyball
Looking to right the ship after a handful of tough losses, the Tigers come home to the Spanos Center for the final time in WCC play for a pair of matches against the Bay Area teams as San Francisco and Santa Clara come to town. Pacific enters the weekend 11-14 overall and 4-10 in conference play having dropped its last six matches. The rough patch for the Tigers began with a five-set loss at San Francisco nearly a month ago after picking up a road win against Santa Clara two days prior. The Dons enter the week with a little momentum having taken #8 San Diego to five last week while the Broncos are coming off of a 4-set upset of #21 BYU.
On Saturday, the Tigers will celebrate Military Appreciation Day as they take on Santa Clara. The Appreciation Day has become an annual event for the Tigers as Pacific welcomes veterans and active military members to the Spanos Center free of charge.
Entering the week the Tigers had seen just 20 players reach the 1,000 kill plateau in their careers. That number changed when senior Megan Birch tallied her 11th and final kill against Pepperdine on Saturday. With 19 kills over the week, Birch hit the 1,000 mark on the dot on Saturday afternoon to become the 21st Tiger in program history to reach the milestone.
