A New Era Begins As Pacific Takes On Gonzaga In Its First-Ever WCC Match

A new era for Pacific Athletics officially begins on Thursday night as the Tigers take on Gonzaga in West Coast Conference play. The women's volleyball team will be the first Tiger team to hit court in conference play as members of the WCC as they face the Bulldogs at 7:00 pm at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Pacific is riding high after winning its fourth-straight Community Bankers Classic as the Tigers swept the competion once again without dropping a set. At the conclusion of the tournament sophomore captain Kimmy Whitson was named the MVP for her play over the weekend. Whitson was masterful once again guiding the Tigers' offense as she posted 94 assists and 12 kills on .391 hitting. Defensively, Whitson tallied 16 digs and 11 blocks including a career-best seven against UCR on Friday night. Besides Whitson, freshman Lexi Elman and junior Gillian Howard each earned all-tournament honors as well.
