GAME NOTES - WEEK 6 - SEPT. 30 - OCT. 1

Beginning Big West play at home with a split last weekend, the Tigers hit the road for the first time in conference play this week when they head to the Central Coast to take on UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.  Entering the weekend all three teams sit at 1-1 after Pacific fell to UC Davis to open the conference year while UC Santa Barbara fell to Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly dropped a five-set match to Long Beach State.  For the Gauchos, Friday nights match will be the team's home opener after spending the first month of the season on the road.

Last season the Tigers split their season series with both the Gauchos and the Mustangs.  Against UC Santa Barbara, the two teams broke serve against one another as each team took a road match in hostile territory with Pacific winning  a five-set thriller at the Thunderdome at the end of last season.  Leading the way, Samantha Misa put down a then  career-high 24 kills.   Not to be outdone, Jennifer Sanders had one of the finest matches of her young career as she posted 22 kills and hit .588 to help propel the Tigers to the win.

Versus the Mustangs, the duo held serve with each team protecting their home courts with Cal Poly taking a close four-set match last time at Mott Gym.  In the match, Hannah Clancy posted a then career-high 22 digs to go along with 41 assists while Siga Appelgate tallied a career-high 13 kills in the match.
