With the finish of regular season tournament play the Tigers head into Big West Conference play on Wednesday, September 21 with a tilt against their rival UC Davis. Entering the midweek contest, UC Davis and Pacific sit as the top two teams with the Aggies holding the top spot at 14-1 after their best start in program history. For Pacific, the Tigers carry into conference play a 9-4 overall mark after posting a 2-1 record last week at the Hilton Stockton Invitational.
Last season the two teams split their season series with each taking victories away from home in hostile environments. In both matches, the victor needed five games for the win. In both matches, senior (then junior) Samantha Misa posted double-doubles including a 22 kill, 15 dig performance at UC Davis in the Big West finale. The senior outside hitter enters the fray in the Big West as the conference's No. 2 hitter after averaging 4.02 kills through the first month of play.
