TOURNAMENT NOTES - HILTON STOCKTON INVITATIONAL - SEPT. 15-17

Hosting their final regular season tournament of the 2011 season, the Tigers will welcome to the Alex G. Spanos Center Cal State Bakersfield, Loyola Marymount, San Jose State and UC Riverside for the Hilton Stockton Invitational.  The Tigers bring back the Hilton Stockton after a one year layoff after last hosting the tournament in 2009.  The reigning champion of the invitational, Pacific will look to defend its title with three matches as they face three of the four teams coming to Stockton.  The Tigers will not face UC Riverside due to conference affiliation.  The two teams will face off in Big West play three weeks later at the Spanos Center on October 8 when Pacific Digs For A Cure.

Last time at the tournament the Tigers swept all three matches including taking wins over Cal State Bakersfield and Loyola Marymount en route to the tournament title.  Pacific holds two of three tournament titles in which it competed for in 2011 with wins at the Crystal Inn Thunderbird Invitational and the 33rd Annual Community Bankers Classic.
